A Word From Dr. Stanley

October 2020

If you’ve been a Christian for any length of time, it’s likely you have experienced some degree of persecution. Jesus said insults and false accusations are to be expected when we live boldly for Him. But He also said to “rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matt. 5:12). Your challenges may not be identical to Daniel’s or Jeremiah’s, but the more you speak out for the Lord and live His gospel, the more likely you are to meet with hostility. When that happens, I encourage you to do as Jesus says: Don’t retaliate—rejoice. While you spend time this month with the One who loves you best, remember what an honor it is to suffer because of Him.
