The Gift of ...

A Special Section

The holiday season is a time for gifts. Some are easy to appreciate, and some take effort. Still others are of a different kind altogether: gifts that arrive unbidden in our lives—some delightful, others distressing. The death of a loved one, a note tucked in the pages of a Bible, a chance encounter on a busy street corner, the sky in all its shimmering glory on a winter evening—all these, and a million more besides, serve as reminders of the ways “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love [Him]” (Rom. 8:28). In His hands, the things we never wanted often lead us to the very things we can’t live without. Our hope is that this special section encourages you to see the circumstances of your own life with wonder and gratitude.
