Proclaiming Peace to Those in Need

Refugees in Syria receive the gospel as they seek safety in Lebanon.

The Middle Eastern nation of Lebanon, which shares Israel’s northern border, has deep biblical significance going back to the Old Testament. To this day, “the cedars of Lebanon,” frequently cited in Scripture, grow high in the mountains overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

For the missionaries that make Lebanon home, it is a strategic country from which to reach people throughout the Middle East. And in recent years, as refugees flee to Lebanon from Syrian’s civil war, there’s an opportunity to reach them with the gospel. Faced with fear and uncertainty, these families are poised to hear about the peace God offers through His Son, Jesus Christ.
